ABSTRACT AWARDS
RECOGNISING EXCELLENCE IN VIROLOGY
Many viral diseases disproportionately affect people living in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), where a significant proportion of the world's population resides. It is therefore important that students and early-career researchers from LMICs have the opportunity to attend APCMV 2027 to learn, present their research, network with international experts, and participate in high-quality scientific and educational programmes.
As part of this commitment, top-ranked abstracts will be selected for oral presentation, providing authors with a prestigious platform to showcase their research to an international audience of leading experts in virology.
To recognise outstanding contributions to research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration, a series of awards will be presented during the main congress. These awards celebrate scientific excellence while highlighting work that advances knowledge, inspires innovation, and contributes to improving global health outcomes.
To support participation by scientists from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), particularly students and early-career researchers, APCMV 2027 will introduce two funding initiatives.
APCMV EDUCATION INITIATIVE AWARDS
Inclusivity and diversity are central to the vision of APCMV 2027. The APCMV Education Initiative has been established to support students and early-career researchers from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) by providing opportunities to present their research, engage with international experts, and participate in the scientific programme.
The initiative provides support to students and early-career researchers from LMICs whose abstracts demonstrate scientific merit and contribute diverse perspectives to the field of virology.
